Malawi, Africa
God is doing some incredible things in Africa. What started in 2007 as a pig farm designed to help sustain income for local villages has now turned into a home and a haven for Malawi’s orphans. Along with the partnership of Bigger Than Life Christian Foundation and Servants for Christ, Esther’s House Orphanage is now open in Ntcheu! This orphanage will house up to 100 orphans that will receive shelter, food, and all the essential daily needs. There is a chapel, dormitories, a home for house parents, kitchen and dining hall, and two classrooms that will teach Christian education and vocational skills so the orphans can gain employment and live productive lives.
With over 1 million orphans, Malawi is a country that is desperate for the Good News. There is much work to be done! You can be a part of what God is doing in Malawi by:
- Praying: Pray that the Lord would continue to show us favor with the local chiefs and villages. We have been able to make great inroads because God has opened doors with these nationals. We are assembling a team for our next missionary journey June 8-19, 2010. Ask the Lord how you might be a part of this exciting time led by Ryan Blackwell. For more information on this missionary journey or our August Malawi missionary journey, call our Missions Office at 479-756-7151.
- Giving: Sponsor an orphan or a widow. Ways to give are found in our Wish List.
- Going: Ask the Lord how you might be a part of one of our teams that will go to Malawi. Our work includes general evangelism in the villages, loving and encouraging widows through visitation and discipleship, and ministry to orphans through Bible stories, songs, and teaching.
